Foreign Language: The Key to Staving off Alzheimer’s?

It has been well established that bilingualism has positive effects on an individual’s life, but it appears that the greatest benefit of bilingualism is reserved for old age. Besides rounding out an individual’s knowledge and boosting concentration, studies have demonstrated that learning a foreign language delays the onset of Alzheimer’s.
An article in The Guardian recently posited that bilingual individuals enjoy, on average, four more years of life without the symptoms of Alzheimer’s disease, compared to monolingual individuals. Bilingualism unfortunately cannot prevent the disease, but it means that a person will be older if and when the disease manifests itself.
At ASIST Translations we support all efforts that prove conducive to preventing Alzheimer’s and as an agency we provide translations from and into any language. Don’t hesitate to contact us for a free estimate or for any foreign-language needs, while you are at it you may just want to dig out those old language books from school!

Visiting Angels is indeed a blessing. I needed someone to care for my mom who lives in Palm Beach Gardens, FL. She suffers from Alzheimer’s and I live in England. I was able to choose the right caregiver for my Mom. The person was experienced and had excellent credentials. I have peace of mind knowing that Mom is in capable hands. You should check them out at http://www.visitingangels.com/palmbeaches (561-328-7611) if you need senior care services.
