Found in Translation: Transforming the World and Shaping Lives

Foreign language translation touches every aspect of life. This is the message in the newly released book Found in Translation:  How Language Shapes Our Lives and Transforms the World by Nataly Kelly and Jost Zetzsche.
Nataly Kelly and Jost Zetzsche have co-authored a work that demonstrates how translation plays an integral part of our lives and isn’t something only related to business or international politics. The authors have collected a wide variety of insightful and entertaining stories that illustrate how translation affects everyone. Through the movies we watch, the food we eat, the books we read, and even the views we hold-translation makes possible the pleasures we partake in and the freedoms we enjoy.
By recounting their personal experiences in the translation and interpreting industry, including a harrowing account of a 911 call to save a woman from being murdered, the authors hope readers and people in general will better appreciate the role that translation and interpreting plays in our lives. According to Nataly Kelly the goal of this book is to highlight the importance of this field and make people more aware of its critical impact on society as a whole.
